Keiki Steps Teacher’s Aide – Kapa’a/Kekaha

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is a leader in their family or community, is flexible, a hard worker, able to get along with others, and willing to try new things.  The Teacher’s Aide will be part of the site team under the immediate supervision of the Keiki Steps Program Director and Associate Program Director at appointed Kaua’i site.

General Duties:  Responsible for assisting in the Keiki Steps parent participation preschool program; providing educational support to children and their parents/caregivers as needed; setting up and breaking down the site daily; preparing snacks; supporting circle time and assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:  HS Diploma, experience with working with children ages 0-5, CDA certified or a commitment towards earning the credential.

Preferred Experience: Knowledge and experience with working in Native Hawaiian communities.

Keiki Steps ‘Ohana Advocate – Kapa’a/Kekaha

Do you believe that education is the key to success for children and families?  Do you want to share your passion for education and empower others?  If so, you may be the person that we are looking for.  Under the direct supervision of the Keiki Steps Program Director and Associate Program Director, the ‘Ohana Advocate will be a part of a parent participation preschool site team, build relationships with families, provide answers to parenting questions and make connections to available resources within the community.

General Duties: Works closely with families and caregivers to provide parenting information along with resource and referral services on-site.  Must have knowledge of available community resources and the strong ability to research resources once family’s needs are identified.  Works with Site Coordinator to schedule parent education courses and workshops.  Build meaningful relationships with families.  Must have strong communication and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:  HS Diploma and a love for working with families with children ages 0-5.

Preferred Experience:  Early Childhood background and/or degree, parenting experience, along with experience in working within Native Hawaiian Communities.

Keiki Steps Site Coordinator – Kapa’a/Kekaha

We are searching for an enthusiastic individual whose energetic personality will bring happy smiles and the motivation to learn to our keiki in our Keiki Steps Program.  The Site Coordinator will be a strong leader of the Site Team under the general supervision of the Keiki Steps Program Director and Associate Program Director.

General Duties:  Responsible for the overall operation and implementation of activities and deadlines of the Keiki Steps Program.  Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans while complying with all state and local board of education requirements.  Create a safe and fun environment conducive to learning for the keiki and parents/caregivers by encouraging different teaching strategies.  Recognizing learning problems in children and making referrals as appropriate.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:  HS Diploma and at least 2 years of experience working with children from the ages 0-5.  CDA certificate or commitment to working toward a CDA credential.

Preferred Experience:  Knowledge and experience with working within Native Hawaiian communities.
